From Meta to NVIDIA: Leading by Influence, Powered by an RPI at Work MBA

As she prepared to submit her final assignment and graduate from the RPI at Work MBA for Professionals program, Anisha Gurumurthy reflects on a period of profound professional and personal transformation—one that redefined not just her career path, but how she leads, communicates, and makes impact.

An electrical engineer by training, Anisha has always been deeply technical at her core. But like many high-performing engineers, she reached a point where expertise alone was not enough. She wanted to communicate complex ideas with clarity, influence decisions across disciplines, and lead meaningful work — without losing her technical identity.

That intention became momentum.

While completing her MBA, Anisha made a bold career move: transitioning from Meta to NVIDIA, returning to a highly technical role while stepping into broader, end-to-end leadership of complex projects. Today, she leads by influence—bridging engineering, finance, product, and operations—using the strategic frameworks, confidence, and communication skills sharpened through her RPI MBA experience.

“The MBA gave me the confidence and the tools to walk into any organization, ask the right questions, and lead with intention.” she shared.

Her journey wasn’t without challenge. Anisha completed the program while navigating a major career transition—and welcoming her first child. Supported by faculty who understood the realities of working professionals, she never felt asked to choose between life, work, and learning.

What set the RPI at Work MBA apart for her was not theory or exams—but application.

Courses are built around real scenarios. Assignments mirror the work professionals are doing every day. Presentations are practiced, refined, and delivered with purpose. Faculty are not just instructors, but mentors—experienced leaders who invest deeply in each student’s growth.

“This program didn’t feel like studying for exams. It felt like learning how to think—how to communicate, how to lead, how to build and pitch ideas that matter.”

For Anisha, the MBA was never about chasing a title. It was about becoming more effective, more confident, and more capable of making a difference—wherever her technical expertise could be applied.

As she graduates, she’s already looking ahead: mentoring others and continuing to lead complex initiatives at NVIDIA with clarity and conviction.

Her message to others considering what’s possible?

“You don’t need to stop being an engineer to grow. You can lead by influence. You can stay technical. And with the right program, you can absolutely do this.”

Anisha’s journey is a powerful reminder that growth doesn’t require leaving your technical roots behind—it requires the right environment to strengthen them.

If you are an engineer, technologist, or experienced professional who wants to communicate with greater confidence, lead by influence, and apply learning directly to the work that matters most, we welcome you to the RPI at Work MBA for Professionals

Your experience. Your momentum. Your path—strengthened.
